  I have been born in raised in New Harvest Christian Fellowship and I have always held a good relationship with all my Pastors! This church goes by what the Word of Gods says. I could not imagine myself at any other church! Never will you find a perfect church but we serve a perfect God.

  This “church” called New Harvest Christian Fellowship is by all means a cult. I will try to be as unbiased as possible- only stating fact and first hand experience.
  
  I grew up in this church (unfortunately) and have been ‘saved’ from it, pun intended. My family had been involved in it for many years and at one point I considered them an extension of family. As I grew older I realized how racist and hate filled the sermons were and how they were being pawned off as “god’s” word. They preach disdain for LGBT community, disdain for the educated and intellectuals and how they’ll only brainwash your children, disdain towards ‘unsaved’ family and friends and discouraged your association with either. They also, which was the last straw for me and my family, strongly preached against anyone visiting other churches or associating with anyone of that matter due to the desire to not let others flock away, i.e., visiting/ associating with others from other churches was/ is not prohibited with ‘just’ consequences at hand involving disassociation of members and abolishment from the church entirely. Since Modesto, CA is such a small town a run in is unavoidable which has occurred only resulting in awkwardness with the members downright being rude and not acknowledging the ‘back-sliders.’ Now you tell me who’s being brainwashed. (?)
  
  This so called church is being run by a for-profit family whose goal is to profit from an age-old institution conducting business dishonestly and downright brainwashing its followers. This “church” has not grown over the 30+ years it’s been in Modesto, it has only shrunk. There are a small group of families who attend and support the church. That’s it. And they’re supposed to be bringing people in to GOD. God does not reside in a cult driven for profit establishment! Try Calvary Temple or Shelter Cove instead.

  Unfortunately, this institution fails to deliver, on so many levels, on most of which it claims to stand for.
  
  It is controlled by the individuals who hold influence, by influence meaning largest financial contributors.
  
  The sermons are generally a sum of judgmental updates on what is current with in the social aspect of the church only delivered to the congregation as a "message from God."
  
  I entered this church believing it was about "community" and reaching out. This church fails miserably. I saw that there was no community based programs nor was there outreaches to the community outside of the church or even with in the church. Yet the pastor of this institution lives quite comfortably. Only making me question how much is he and his family benefiting from this institution. It's no wonder most of these members who attend are forced to contribute 10% of their income all the while struggling to make ends meet.
  
  So, go if you must, to satisfy your curiosity. But, please be very observant and skeptical of this institution.
  
  If God is what you're seeking, please either go to Victory Outreach or Calvery Temple, these are actual churches who are not concerned with silly "politics of the church" nor are they ones to judge or control, their only concern is God, and that's how it should be!
  
  This review is not for the New Harvest franchise as a whole, it is only for the Modesto, Ca. location.

  I was finally able to break away from this oppressive and unbiblical ministry, that was heavily bent on controlling and condemning just about every aspect of my life.(Beyond what scripture allows) However, once I no longer attended the church the current members began to treat me as if I was demon possessed and would no longer associate with me. But they're not entirely to blame, that is what they are taught by the Pastor Robert Romero. I would find a Full Gospel believing church if I were you, where you will hear God's Word preached, not man made religion.

  These people are ridiculous. If I could give anything less that a 1 star I would. The family that runs this place is corrupt beyond belief.
